As soon as Cen Lan connected to the virtual call, she heard Feng Jingyu wailing on the other end.

“Sister Cen Lan, help! I can’t handle this on my own~~~”

“What’s wrong? Don’t panic, just tell me clearly,” Cen Lan hurried to soothe her.

“It’s that project from the Zhao Xing Star System you introduced last time…” Feng Jingyu stammered.

“It didn’t go well?” Cen Lan’s brows knit together.

“It went very smoothly, they’ve even reviewed our proposal,” Feng Jingyu averted her gaze.

“Then what’s the problem?” Cen Lan pressed.

“I guess our plan seemed a bit ahead of its time to the aliens…” Feng Jingyu fidgeted with her fingers, “So they decided to come in person to discuss it.” She looked at Cen Lan, aggrieved. “But the problem is, neither you nor Xiao He is here. Who am I supposed to find to receive them… And you even took Chang Yu with you, I really can’t find anyone…”

“That’s true… This isn’t a purely commercial project, and it’s tied up with our voting rights. Plus, the other party is the daughter of the Zhao Xing Star System’s governor. We can’t just assign anyone to receive her…” Cen Lan pondered for a moment, then quickly made up her mind. “Here’s what we’ll do. I’ll contact Minister Li and have him send someone to help you coordinate.”

Feng Jingyu nodded vigorously, “Alright, alright, I’ll do whatever you say.”

“It was my oversight. I should have left someone behind for you,” Cen Lan said, a bit apologetic.

“It’s fine, what you’re doing is more important. Besides, you’ve already helped me solve the problem.” Feng Jingyu replied carelessly, “I won’t disturb your rest. Good night.”

    “Good night.”

    ·

    Earth · Youjian Entertainment.

The visitor from the Zhao Xing Star System soon arrived on Earth and was personally received by Minister Li. However, since the main purpose of the visit was to negotiate business with Youjian Entertainment, after arranging suitable accommodations for the distinguished guest and assigning an assistant to accompany her, Minister Li considered his job done. He also notified Youjian Entertainment that the guest would visit the company the next day.

After one last review of the marketing plan, the staff at Youjian Entertainment found themselves with a bit of time to spare, so the planning team began to chat idly.

“Boss, I heard that people from the Zhao Xing Star System are all aquatic, kind of like a mix between merfolk and sirens. Supposedly, they have both land and water forms. I really want to see what they look like in the water—it must be beautiful.” This was the curious employee.

“Their planet is all water, so how did they build a spaceport? And when people from other systems visit, do they have to live in the water too?” This was the practical-minded employee.

“Once the deal is done, can we take a picture with them? Legendary merfolk, after all…” This was the employee looking for bragging rights.

“I think we’d better hurry up and revise the script. They said it’s urgent, and as soon as the ad is finalized, filming has to start right away.” This was the work-focused employee.

“Alright, meeting adjourned. Let’s talk about tomorrow’s matters tomorrow,” Feng Jingyu waited for them to finish before speaking. “Save your curiosity and enthusiasm for tomorrow. Tonight, get some good rest.”

    “Yes, boss!”

The employees exited the online meeting in high spirits.

    ·

Lan Yang, accompanied by her assistant, arrived at Youjian Entertainment’s office.

To call it an office was generous—it was really just the reception lounge of Youjian Entertainment. When Lan Yang entered, there were already people inside.

Besides Feng Jingyu, whom she’d met via virtual call, there were two Earthlings Lan Yang didn’t recognize.

When they saw Lan Yang, surprise flashed across their faces, but they quickly composed themselves and replaced it with polite smiles.

“Ms. Lan Yang, welcome to Youjian Entertainment.” Feng Jingyu stood to greet her.

“Hello, Ms. Feng.” Lan Yang imitated the Earth custom and shook Feng Jingyu’s hand before sitting down.

After a few polite exchanges, Lan Yang got straight to the point.

“Ms. Feng, I came to Earth this time because I wanted to hear from you in person—what exactly does this ‘spokesperson’ concept entail? Why are you so certain that with a spokesperson, my ‘Suxin’ can be promoted throughout the entire Interstellar Federation?”

Feng Jingyu smiled at her words. “Ms. Lan Yang, while the concept of a spokesperson might be unprecedented in the Interstellar Federation, it’s already commonplace on Earth. It’s a method that has stood the test of time and can quickly earn recognition for your brand.”

Seeing Feng Jingyu’s confidence, Lan Yang’s opinion of her rose a little more. “Please, explain it to me in detail.”

Feng Jingyu unfolded a holographic projection in front of Lan Yang. “Let me start by telling you about fan-based economies.”

    ·

Lan Yang nodded. “Ms. Feng, I understand everything you’ve said. So, in your opinion, who would be the most suitable spokesperson?”

“If we let Yu7 be the spokesperson, it would undoubtedly be the fastest way to monetize. But I believe that ‘Suxin’ is a product aimed at a female audience, and your motivation for developing it comes from the memory of your mother. Therefore, my suggestion is to have the Interstellar Girls Group serve as spokespersons—it would be more appropriate,” Feng Jingyu said.

“It seems Ms. Feng already has a detailed plan in mind.” Lan Yang’s own preference was also leaning toward the Interstellar Girls Group.

“We plan to shoot a short commercial. I wrote the script myself.” Feng Jingyu produced the script she’d prepared in advance. “You can take a look.”

Lan Yang read quickly, finishing the not-too-thick script in no time.

“I really like this story. But, with this kind of depiction, wouldn’t it be considered deceptive? The Interstellar Federation has strict regulations regarding product advertising. Of course, the ingredients and effects of ‘Suxin’ are absolutely reliable, but if we film the commercial this way, won’t viewers think we’re exaggerating its effects?”

“We’ve already considered your concerns. First, the short film is set in a fictional era, and in it, ‘Suxin’ isn’t a skincare product, but a ‘miracle medicine.’ When the ad reaches peak popularity, the Interstellar Girls will post reviews of ‘Suxin’ on their personal StarNet pages, as well as announce their role as spokespersons. Finally, the Interstellar Girls will host live-stream sales and demonstrate the product on the spot, allowing viewers to see its effects firsthand. This way, the audience’s curiosity and enthusiasm for ‘Suxin’ will reach its peak.” Feng Jingyu smiled mysteriously. “But Ms. Lan Yang, I suggest you don’t put too much of the first batch on sale. Once it sells out, delay the release of the next batch.”

“Delay the release?” Lan Yang quickly grasped the implication, her eyes lighting up. “I understand what you mean. Ms. Feng, I’ll leave everything to you. Here’s to a successful partnership.”

Feng Jingyu took Lan Yang’s outstretched hand. “To a successful partnership.”

    ·

After sending Lan Yang off, Feng Jingyu immediately collapsed onto the sofa, and said weakly to the staff beside her, “Get ready to start preparing for the commercial shoot. Go to the Earth Entertainment Alliance and get me all the costume, makeup, and set designers, plus the directors, from the Wu Zetian production team.”

The planning team leader beside her thought she’d misheard and confirmed, “Boss, the costume and makeup team from Wu Zetian isn’t from a single company—they’re the best behind-the-scenes staff picked from several entertainment companies. There are several directors, too.”

“They’re not from the same company, but they’re all in the same alliance. Go borrow them—kick up a fuss if you have to, but get them here.” Feng Jingyu put on a cold, ruthless expression. “If they refuse, go complain to Minister Li.”

Since Feng Jingyu had spoken so, the planning team leader hesitated no more, flashed an “OK” sign, and went off gleefully to throw her weight around.

Feng Jingyu then turned to another employee. “Contact the manager of the Interstellar Girls Group and have her arrange their schedules so we can shoot the commercial first. Also, make sure they get familiar with the script as soon as possible. The roles are already set—no unauthorized changes. If they have suggestions, they can report them, and we’ll adjust as needed.”

    “Yes, boss.”

Once everyone had left, Feng Jingyu was alone in the lounge. She sent Cen Lan a “settled” message, then headed straight home.

On the other side, Lan Yang was excitedly reporting the results of the meeting to Qin.

“So this is what a spokesperson means. From your description, our ‘Suxin’ will definitely be promoted at the fastest possible speed.” Qin was equally excited after hearing it all.

“Qin, we really didn’t misjudge them.” Lan Yang also shared Feng Jingyu’s suggestion to delay the second batch’s release, and sighed, “It’s always the things you can’t buy that are the most tempting. Youjian Entertainment deliberately creates this phenomenon, which will maximize ‘Suxin’s’ name recognition. Their grasp of human psychology is truly impressive.”

“Yes, all we have to do is wait patiently for good news.”
